Purpose: We are looking for a passionate Scientific Application Developer to strengthen the Process Science Modeling and Data team of the Innovation and Technology Deployment organization of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT). Our organization supports all sites, platforms, and modalities - all over the globe.
Our mission is to make Johnson & Johnson's manufacturing processes faster and more cost-efficient while improving product quality! This role covers various aspects, from multi-year innovation projects that see the deployment of creative, robust, and scalable scientific software solutions to supporting near-term operational challenges.
As a technical person, this team member will drive the development, implementation, and deployment of new scientific apps and application programming interfaces (APIs). As a person with a strong scientific and/or computer science background and can-do approach, you will work closely with internal customers, collaborators, and senior leadership. The candidate will assess the feasibility of new solutions and drive the execution of selected projects. Help us change the way medicine is produced! The selected person will support novel as well as established products.
From process capability/quality improvements to breakthrough enhancements in Cost of Goods, we strive to support all internal & external manufacturing sites with modeling know-how backed up by scientific understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop scientific applications and APIs to support manufacturing.
* Leverage DevOps tools to maintain and deploy applications that can be accessed by operators, supervisors, and other members of manufacturing and technical operations.
* Construct models to analyze and extract insights from multidimensional datasets.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate digital tools with manufacturing control systems and existing production workflows.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
* Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* History of developing creative, user-facing scientific software using various frameworks.
* Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, git, Jenkins, etc. is helpful.
* Previous exposure to the pharmaceutical or chemical industries is a plus as is familiarity with GxP regulations and industry standards.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
