The consult will be required to perform one or more of the following tasks :
1. Task 1 : Provide technical expertise to develop IPC technical and normative documents and resources, such as guidelines, handbooks, and other resources.
2. Deliverables: Summary of desk review, outline of the document, reports of expert meetings, draft document.
Task 2 : Support IPC education and training, including needs assessment and development of training resources and plans.
* Deliverables include reports on training needs, updates of existing resources, draft training toolkit, training plan, and report on training delivery with evaluations.
Task 3 : Provide technical support for developing national and facility-level IPC programmes.
* Deliverables include assessment reports, improvement proposals, resource packages, and workshop reports.
Task 4 : Support healthcare-associated infection (HAI) surveillance.
* Deliverables include project proposals, resource reviews, development of additional resources, training plans, and training reports.
Task 5 : Support outbreak prevention and management.
* Deliverables include resource reviews, development of new resources, and outbreak management reports.
Task 6 : Support implementation of precautions.
* Deliverables include resource reviews, development, and advice on implementation.
Task 7 : Support prevention of specific HAIs.
* Deliverables include reviews, development of resources, strategies, and implementation advice.
Task 8 : Support monitoring and evaluation of IPC programmes.
* Deliverables include resource reviews, development, proposals, training plans, reports, and workshops.
Qualifications, experience, skills, and languages
Educational Qualifications :
* Band B: First university degree in medicine, Medical Sciences, Nursing, or related fields.
* Band C: Master's or higher in relevant fields.
* Additional qualifications in epidemiology are desirable.
Experience
For Band B : 5-10 years of progressive experience in IPC, including sepsis and AMR prevention.
For Band C : Over 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience in low- and middle-income countries and UN system is preferred. Skills include clinical IPC implementation, programme development, documentation, surveillance, data collection, and interpretation, with excellent communication skills and practical approach.
Languages required : Essential: English; Intermediate: other UN official languages.
Location : Off site, home-based.
Travel : The consultant is expected to travel.
Remuneration : Band B: USD 7,000 - 9,980/month; Band C: USD 10,000 - 12,500/month.
Expected duration : Up to 6 months, with possible subsequent contracts.
