Senior Powertrain Component Engineer
Permanent contract, full-time | Switzerland

THE ROLE
Within the engine components division, you take technical ownership of the Crank Case and Cylinder Head subsystem for the next generation of diesel engines.
In this role, you will:
Decide on the technical content and timelines for the development of new engine components, as well as improvements to existing components, in line with Project Management.Define the technical specifications of the components to be developed and their key operating parameters.Work in a cross-functional team with Design, Engine Tests, Electronics and Project Management to ensure technologies and specifications match project requirements.Support FMEA processes, and update and follow up on internal and external engine test activities.Work closely with suppliers on technology surveys, component development and tear-down activities.Define maintenance requirements for the subsystem and report development status to the Platform Manager.Own the Master Design and Validation Plan (DVP&Nr) for the subsystem and prepare technical releases for components under development.CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 7 to 10 years of experience in combustion engine developmentProven experience with cast iron parts: manufacturing processes, design-for-casting and failure modesSolid understanding of the thermo-mechanical behaviour of cylinder heads and crank cases, including heat transferStrong command of the DVP&Nr methodology, troubleshooting and problem-solvingExcellent command of English required, German or French a plusStrong proficiency with MS OfficeAnalytical thinker with genuine leadership, flexibility and resilience, and a constant awareness of cost and resourcesWHAT’S OFFERED
