H3Overview /h3pbDevelopment Engineer (contract) /b role at Roche /ppIn Roche’s System Development (SD) department, you will work in a global, cross-functional environment focused on workflow optimization and integrating hardware, software, consumables, and reagents to perform system verification of diagnostics instruments. You will contribute to projects on Nucleic Acid Purification, PCR and Sequencing while developing complex diagnostics systems. You will perform hands-on experiments and hardware and software testing, evaluate system performance, address errors, and contribute to reliability improvements. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliPlan and execute the work packages within the area of responsibility, including reporting and escalating issues to management /liliSubject matter expert for an assigned area of responsibility. Provide guidance and support to team members /liliGenerate required documentation/procedures/technical reports /liliPrepare and deliver presentations of project results to team and management /liliExperimental design and execution of the experiments in the biosafety levels S1 and S2 laboratory /liliCreation of Test Cases based on Product Requirements. Execution of Test Cases, analysis of the results, and creation of the respective regulatory documents. Issue tracking and verification of bug fixes/Anomalies /liliTroubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. Document and maintain software functionality /liliCoordinate efforts with other functional areas to accomplish tasks: Hardware, Software, Consumables, and Assay Development /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliDegree in a relevant life science discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, biomedical informatics, or engineering related to life sciences) or corresponding job experience /liliInterest in resolving technical problems and interdisciplinary teamwork /liliExperience and willingness to work in a highly regulated industry and labs with biosafety levels S1 and S2 /liliFamiliarity with or strong interest in software and engineering applications and tools /liliEnthusiastic team player with good communication and collaboration skills; solution-oriented, autonomous, and proactive /liliProven experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or service and support, and experience supporting HW and SW is an asset /liliWorking knowledge of English (written and spoken); German is a strong asset /li /ulh3About Roche /h3pA healthier future drives us to innovate.
