We are currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Laboratory Manager – High Voltage Testing 80 - 100% (f/m/d) to oversee our laboratory operations in Zürich. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team to strengthen our global competitiveness and scale our Swiss operations to meet the surging demands of the international energy market. General Information Start: asap Location: Zurich Workload: 100% Duration: permanent How You’ll Make an Impact In this highly responsible position, you will oversee three distinct laboratories and a team of approximately 15 FTEs, ensuring the highest standards of technical precision and operational efficiency. Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for HV testing; manage resources, recruitment, and professional development for the laboratory team. Operational Excellence: Ensure high-volume output through reliable testing procedures, including AC, DC, impulse, and partial discharge testing. Process Innovation: Collaborate with Process Engineering to identify and integrate emerging technologies and best practices (CIP). Safety & Compliance: Uphold rigorous safety and quality standards in accordance with IEC/IEEE and ISO regulations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Production departments to ensure holistic process design and seamless workflow. Performance Management: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting directly to the Operations Manager to drive data-driven decision-making. Governance: Ensure all internal and external regulations, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, are strictly followed. Your Background We are looking for a leader who combines deep technical expertise with a modern approach to people management and process optimization. Education: Technical apprenticeship followed by a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Leadership Experience: Several years of proven experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams, ideally within high-voltage testing, insulation technology, or power engineering. Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of high-voltage systems, generators, and automation systems. Methodological Expertise: Strong command of Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other process optimization frameworks. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a "safety-first" mindset. Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory.
