Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of our organization. This role will assist in managing accounting functions, conducting treasury administration tasks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to lead and collaborate across departments.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, operational enhancements, and user administration.
Plan and coordinate corporate month end closing tasks through ownership of the monthly closing checklist (monitoring status of completed and incomplete tasks, adding or removing tasks from month to month as needed, etc.). Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepares consolidating debt, intangible asset, and equity rollforwards.
Collaborate with business unit and block controllers on monthly close and financial reporting tasks including intercompany allocations, OneStream loads, eliminations and reporting.
OneStream related tasks include monitoring monthly closing including status of BU TB loads, forms completion, certification. Reviews submissions for accuracy and follows up with business unit controllers as needed. The ideal candidate is proficient with ad hoc queries ("Quickviews") or has an aptitude and interest in learning those skills.
Support the Controller in managing audits and tax compliance activities by monitoring business unit progress and assisting as needed.
Assist with the development and implementation of SOX controls.
Perform technical accounting research as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Public accounting experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Comfortable with taking on challenging tasks without explicit, step by step instructions.
Organizational skills and systems to track and prioritize tasks and open items
Preferred Skills
OneStream or similar financial consolidation software experience
Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas and functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS)
