Job Title: Quality System Supervisor
General Description:
Oversee the quality system and personnel to ensure quality requirements are established, implemented, maintained, and improved in alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Establish, implement, train, maintain, and improve the quality system:
Upgrade quality system to meet new or revised standards as required
Maintain quality system manuals, documentation, records
Keep shop floor work instructions and record forms current
Monitor effectiveness of quality policies, procedures, and work instructions
Oversee inspection and test methods, gage controls, SPC, and capability analysis
Make recommendations for improvements
Track and analyze NCRs, CARs, customer complaints, and other metrics
Monitor material, in-process, and outgoing product quality
Conduct training sessions related to the quality system
Coordinate Quality System Audits:
Schedule and conduct internal quality audits
Act as management representative for third-party audits
Monitor corrective actions and recommendations from audits and reviews
Assist in New Product Introduction Quality Planning:
Create control and inspection plans
Ensure ISIR, PPAP, SPC, and other documentation are prepared
Support Purchasing:
Assess vendors to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain vendor nonconformity and corrective action records
Communicate with vendors and S&R personnel
Identify and Manage Nonconforming Products:
Maintain records of nonconformities
Communicate issues to relevant personnel
Collaborate with Engineering:
Establish product specifications and workmanship standards
Gather data for standards development
Integrate customer-specific quality requirements
Communicate changes to employees, customers, and vendors
Calibration Control:
Perform in-house calibration of inspection tools
Oversee or perform inspection of operator-owned instruments
Coordinate outside calibration as needed
Manage distribution of calibrated instruments
Participate in Lean Activities
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience in manufacturing and marketing technology
Other Skills:
Proficiency with personal computers and Windows applications
Organizational skills
Knowledge of ISO standards
Measuring methods and techniques
Data collection and analysis
Problem-solving techniques
Root Cause Analysis
