Job Description
We are seeking an experienced construction-based Cost Manager for our Commercial / Office / Retail projects in Switzerland. If you believe you are the right fit, we want to hear from you!
Job Objectives
* Pre and post-contract duties including preparing cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variations, and final accounts.
* Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
* Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
* Tendering and procurement activities, managing pre-qualification, producing tender lists, analyzing tenders, and compiling contractual documents.
* Ensuring timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
* Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to clients.
* Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
* Participating in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
* Performing cost risk analysis, contributing to value engineering, and negotiating final accounts.
* Maintaining feedback on cost estimating and updating best practices.
Qualifications
* French language skills at C1 level or native proficiency.
* 8 to 15 years of experience in cost & commercial management.
* University degree in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods and procurement.
* Familiarity with Swiss cost benchmarks, SIA approach, and local construction methodologies.
* Experience with multiple estimating tools and applications.
* Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases.
* Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills.
* Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
* Excellent listening and communication skills.
* Proven experience in cost or commercial management, preferably within a consultancy environment.
