The Business Development Director will report to a Regional Sales Director. This role is expected to drive new deals by identifying, negotiating, and closing opportunities across Catalent’s oral dose technology offerings. In this role, this person will be expected to: /pulliProspect for new business that aligns with capability and/or grow existing strategic accounts depending on territory and business line assignment. /liliSign new business for growth. Maintain and grow current business accounts. /liliSupport local and national tradeshows/events. /li /ulh3The Role /h3ulliLead business development efforts to expand CDMO partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech and/or consumer health companies. /liliProspect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, and industry events. /liliDevelop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical, biotech, consumer health and other relevant companies in the industry. /liliPresent and promote CDMO services to potential clients, highlighting value propositions. /liliPartner with Commercial Operations and Legal to execute appropriate and negotiate complex development and supply agreements to close deals to meet or exceed sales targets. /liliCollaborate with internal teams (product development, project management, manufacturing, regulatory) to ensure client needs are met. Collaborate with VPBD’s, Global Account Directors and other Segment BD teams in the construction and execution of their strategic account plan(s), if applicable. /liliStay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments. /liliNegotiate high-value contracts and close complex deals. /liliMaintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline in CRM systems. /liliDevelop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets (effectively utilizing Korn Ferry sales methodology) to identify, qualify, pursue and close new development opportunities (using Scotwork Negotiation Skills Methodology) within an assigned region (current customers and/or prospects) to achieve revenue and new business objectives. /liliManage and grow key accounts, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention. /liliPresent Catalent’s comprehensive network offerings and capabilities to customers, and craft specific targeted solutions that meet customers’ manufacturing and development needs; present Catalent’s broader capabilities knowledgeably and effectively with customers, in order to generate cross-sell opportunities and craft value-added solutions for customers across technologies. /liliProvide business and overall relationship management support to existing development programs. /liliResponsibilities may include negotiation of new development supply quotations, support specific sites on business/commercial issues and support of RD groups to structure proposals as programs move through various stages of development to commercialization. /liliEnsure compliance with reporting processes and tools, and maintain open communication throughout the organization, especially in regard to cross-site and cross-business unit customer efforts. /liliRepresent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events. /li /ulh3The Candidate /h3ulliBachelor’s degree in science, business administration or another related field preferred; Advanced scientific degree and/or Master of Business Administration / commercially orientated degree is advantageous but not essential. /liliPharma and/or Consumer Health industry experience required. /lili5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, Business Development. /liliSales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred. /liliThorough understanding of contract manufacturing and the pharmaceutical formulation and clinical development processes is a plus. /liliSmall molecule and oral solid dose formulation experience is highly advantageous. /liliExcellent communication in English and in German is required. /liliHunting mentality mandatory. /liliProven ability to drive revenue growth and build lasting client relationships. /liliExcellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. /liliStrong negotiation and persuasion skills to drive successful deal closures. /liliProficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools for managing leads, contacts, and sales activities. /liliHigh level of organization and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple client relationships simultaneously. /liliSelf-motivated and target-driven mindset to achieve and exceed sales goals. /liliAbility to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture. /li /ulpCatalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
