Operations Assistant (Part-time - 20%) at a Climate Tech Start‑up
exnaton is a startup spun out of ETH‑Zurich that offers software for renewable energy to utility companies. Our cloud application enables energy providers to set up energy communities, smart tariffs, and real‑time price calculations based on smart‑meter data. End‑users can track consumption, buy renewable energy from neighbours and understand the source of their electricity.
Role Summary
The Operations Assistant works in the Zurich office, providing administrative support to on‑site and remote teams.
Responsibilities
* Keep the office running smoothly and organized – supplies, snacks and equipment
* Support internal and external events such as team gatherings and trade shows
* Coordinate management and board meetings, including signatures and board resolutions
* Handle physical mail and triage electronic correspondence
* Assist with travel bookings for selected in‑person meetings
* Support onboarding logistics and order devices for new colleagues
* Maintain employee documentation and keep the HR system (Personio) up to date
* Assist in ad‑hoc operational projects
This is a part‑time role: one day per week (8 h) or two days per week (4 h each).
Qualifications
* Proactive, independent with a “get‑things‑done” mindset
* Comfortable handling operational and administrative tasks
* Fluency in English; German is a plus
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative team‑player mentality
* Tech‑savvy and curious about learning new tools and technologies
* Quick learner who thrives in a dynamic, high‑performing startup environment
* Experience working in modern workplaces or startups with dispersed teams
Interest in renewable energy and sustainability is a plus.
