This PhD Student post is part of the project “LLM4Humans - Empowering humans with local Large Language Models (LLM) in research and clinical practice” which is a collaboration project of the IML with the Department of Clinical Research Bern (DCR) https://dcr.unibe.ch/.
We are seeking to fill the following position immediately or upon agreement for a period of four years:
PhD Student in using AI for (qualitative) research 100%
Responsibilities
* Evaluate existing local and online Large Language Models (LLMs) and develop guidance for using these LLMs for analyzing qualitative research data.
* Use interviews and data science methodologies to investigate and compare the analysis of qualitative data by humans and LLMs.
* Execute and disseminate four scientific studies (incl. publications) under supervision
Qualifications
* University degree in psychology, cognitive, social or data sciences or medicine
* Methodological knowhow (preferably in qualitative research methods and/or large language models/data sciencies)
* Profound knowledge of English both written and spoken
* Interest and motivation to engage in this innovative field
* Flair for scientific writing
* Good team working skills
* German language skills are of advantage
