Your responsibilities
Indico is a web-based event management system used worldwide for conferences and meetings, facilitating sharing materials and collaboration. Developed at CERN as an Open Source project by an international team, it is utilized by CERN, over 200 institutes worldwide, including the United Nations.
You will work on upcoming releases of Indico, focusing on enhancing conference interfaces for participants and integrating with other Open Science platforms such as Zenodo.
As a core member of the development team, your responsibilities include:
* Contributing actively to a large Open Source project on GitHub.
* Collaborating with other developers in an agile environment, prototyping and iterating solutions.
* Maintaining code repositories, participating in code reviews and testing.
Your profile
Skills required:
* Python, JavaScript, React, Git.
* Additional skills such as TypeScript, SQLAlchemy, Flask, PostgreSQL, GitHub, user interfaces & accessibility, maintaining Open Source projects, and basic DevOps knowledge are a plus.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English or French, with a willingness to learn the other language.
Eligibility criteria include:
* Being a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* Having a background in Software Engineering or IT, with either:
* a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience, or
* a PhD with no more than 3 years of professional experience.
* Having never previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.

Contract duration: 24 months, with possible extension up to 36 months.
