The Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for an industry-funded postdoctoral position in the area of polymer-derived materials, with a focus on vat photopolymerization. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of polymer chemistry and advanced ceramics, with opportunities for collaboration with both academic and industrial partners.
Key Responsibilities
– Design and synthesis of (macro)monomers for vat photopolymerization of non-oxide ceramics
– Synthesis of non-oxide ceramic nanoparticles
– Development of composition–processing–microstructure relationships in polymer-derived materials
Requirements
– Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
– Demonstrated hands-on experience with materials characterization techniques (specifically SEM, FIB, TGA, XRD)
– Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
– Strong publication record in polymer-derived materials
– Preference given to candidates with expertise in vat photopolymerization or non-oxide ceramics
– Eligibility is open to all nationalities, with preference for candidates from Switzerland or the EU due to funding and visa considerations
