For one of our clients, a major player based in the Bern/Fribourg region, we are looking for a Senior Stamping Engineer FR/GER(M/F):
Your Responsibilities
* Lead the industrialization of stamped metal components, from concept validation to series production
* Define and optimize stamping processes (blanking, punching, bending, forming, deep drawing, progressive dies)
* Validate process feasibility, cycle time, tolerances and material flow
* Support prototype and pre‑series phases and ensure smooth ramp‑up to serial production
* Tooling & Equipment
* Define tooling concepts and technical specifications for stamping dies
* Coordinate tool design, manufacturing, testing and acceptance (internal or external toolmakers)
* Optimize tool life, performance and maintainability
* Support the specification and acquisition of stamping presses and auxiliary equipment
* Production Support & Continuous Improvement
* Provide expert support to production teams to resolve process, quality and performance issues
* Analyze root causes using structured methods (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA)
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, downtime and costs
* Improve process robustness, ergonomics and energy efficiency
* Cross‑Functional & Supplier Interface
* Act as a technical interface between R&D, Quality, Production, Purchasing and Suppliers
* Collaborate closely with external partners and toolmakers
* Contribute to supplier qualification and technical audits
Your Profile
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 5-8 years of experience in metal stamping within an industrial manufacturing environment
* Strong expertise in stamping technologies, materials and tooling (steel, copper alloys, aluminum, etc.)
* Proven experience in industrialization and series production support
* Solid understanding of quality standards, risk analysis and documentation
* Comfortable working in a shop‑floor environment and leading technical problem‑solving activities
* Proficient with standard IT tools; ERP experience (e.g. SAP) is a plus
* Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach
* German and French with a professional level (B2 minimum)
