Job Description
Financial Crime Risk Manager working within Private Bank and Wealth Management team based in Geneva. The successful candidate will support the Head of PB International Financial Crime Risk, providing expert support to the business in areas such as Front Office throughout the client lifecycle (onboarding to exit), risk and issue management, governance reporting and management escalations, audit and assurance activities, stakeholder management in and beyond the location, and strategic initiatives.
The role is suitable for someone with a strong Financial Crime or Risk and Controls background with recent Geneva experience and comparable Private Bank business knowledge. The candidate must own decision making, clear reporting and communication to manage risk, strengthen controls, and support strategic goals, and work with stakeholders at all corporate grades.
Responsibilities
The role will provide end‑to‑end support for Financial Crime risk management across the Private Bank. Key responsibilities include:
* Executing reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to the Barclays Controls Framework.
* Identifying and investigating potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement.
* Developing and presenting reports on control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management and stakeholders.
* Implementing adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and establishing appropriate methodology for control assessment.
* Managing risk and strengthening controls through assessment, governance and escalation.
* Collaborating with stakeholders, building relationships, and influencing outcomes to meet business objectives.
* Providing support to audit and assurance activities.
* Supporting strategic initiatives and delivering a dynamic portfolio of work covering multiple aspects of the PBWM business.
* Optionally providing people‑leadership responsibility, supporting local teams and global colleagues, and providing development coaching.
Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications
* Strong Financial Crime or Risk and Controls background, including direct experience in Geneva with recent knowledge of local rules and requirements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Analytical mindset to identify weaknesses in controls and drive remediation.
* Collaborative approach across stakeholder groups to produce key outcomes and deliverables.
* People‑leadership experience in supporting and developing talent.
Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications
* Fluent in local language.
* Private Bank or Wealth Management business knowledge.
* Project Management or Change delivery experience.
* Relevant external qualifications.
