Your Role & Responsibilities
* Design, integrate, operate, and continuously improve complex, partially safety-critical systems across IT, hardware, and embedded domains
* Define and manage system-level requirements, architectures, and interfaces
* Analyse and model system behaviour through simulation, testing, and verification to ensure reliability and performance
* Coordinate the integration of mechanical, electrical, software, and communication components into cohesive systems
* Evaluate, document, and communicate system designs, security architectures, and interface concepts
* Participate in requirements engineering, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation
* Mediate and coordinate between technical, operational, and administrative stakeholders
* Identify technical risks and drive resolution of system-level issues
* Contribute to standardization, modularization, automation, and quality assurance across system boundaries
* Support preparation of technical concepts, documentation, decision papers, and change-control reports
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (design, production, testing, IT operations)
Job requirements
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
* Several years of experience as a System Engineer, Integration Engineer, or in a multidisciplinary engineering environment (IT, mechanical, embedded, mechatronic, or industrial systems)
* Strong understanding of system design principles, requirement management, and interface definition
* Broad technical knowledge across server, network, communication, or security architectures
* Experience in system integration, verification & validation of complex systems or prototypes
* Knowledge in virtualization, cloud, and containerization (e.g., VMware, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker)
* Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash)
* Familiarity with tools for system modelling or configuration management (e.g., SysML, CAD, Jira)
* Advantageous: experience with safety-critical, military, communication, or cryptographic systems
* Ability to connect technical, operational, and organizational aspects
* Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and proactive problem-solving mindset
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
* Certifications in Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, or ITIL are an advantage
* Excellent communication skills in English; German is a strong plus
