Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Baden, Switzerland
Responsibilities
Responsible for all financial matters of the Swiss and German legal entities.
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and review Swiss/German statutory financial statements under IFRS/Swiss GAAP.
Coordinate year‑end audits, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.
Support local directors in fulfilling their statutory responsibilities.
Responsible for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results of the legal entities.
Tax & Regulatory Oversight
Corporation tax provisions and disclosures.
Preparation and review of VAT returns.
Transfer pricing documentation.
Review tax balances and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
Support external audits, enquiries, and information requests.
Other Responsibilities
Act as a strong business partner in executing the business strategy.
Drive a culture of accountability and simplification and be part of global harmonization projects.
Obtain a comprehensive understanding of project details and risk necessary for future planning, analysis and reporting; contribute to monthly and quarterly project reviews.
Active participation in the tender preparation process, assess commercial and financial risks and opportunities, contribute to defining mitigation plans for risks identified and action plans to materialize opportunities.
Produce annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, estimates and other reports requested by Corporate finance.
Responsible for the daily cash management of the legal entity.
Responsible for securing guarantees and bonds, and implementing a proper hedging strategy.
Responsible for the coordination of relocation and facility management of the office space (real estate strategy).
Implement and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
Establish an efficient process around billing, AR, AP, expense claims and payroll with shared service providers.
Prepare accounting entries, project cost controlling reports, financial statements and banking statements.
Ensure compliance with company procedures.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, local regulations and tax laws impacting legal entities.
Experience Required
Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience in a project environment.
Knowledge of engineering and construction (E & C) business.
Good, analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills as well as ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and work under pressure.
Must have experience in managing a team.
Autonomy, rigor, ethics, flexibility, adaptability, persuasiveness.
Proficiency in Office Suite, knowledge of VBA considered a bonus.
Experience working with SAP ERP an asset.
Experience working with Oracle or Accpac is an asset.
Experience working with Oracle Hyperion an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and/or a Swiss Accounting Certification, CPA title is an asset.
Understanding of the Swiss accounting standards, relevant local Tax issues and IFRS accounting rules for construction contracts.
Languages
Native-level German.
Fluent English (negotiation level).
