We are currently looking for a General Accountant / Cash Applications Specialist in Switzerland. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance function by taking ownership of the cash application process within a fast‑paced, global environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts receivable operations, helping maintain clean financial records and supporting critical business decisions. Working remotely, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial workflows. The position blends transactional accounting with analytical problem‑solving, giving you visibility into broader financial operations. You’ll help streamline processes, reduce errors, and support month‑end activities. This is an ideal role for someone detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable handling high volumes of financial data in a remote setting.
Accountabilities
* Manage and execute the end‑to‑end cash application process for distributor and wholesale customer payments
* Accurately apply payments, credits, deductions, and adjustments within the ERP system
* Review remittance details and supporting documentation to ensure correct allocation of funds
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as short payments, chargebacks, and unapplied cash in collaboration with internal teams and customers
* Track and document trade deductions and assist in resolving outstanding balances
* Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and support account reconciliations
* Prepare regular reports related to AR balances, deductions, and cash application performance
* Contribute to month‑end close activities, including reconciliations, schedules, and journal entries
* Support audits and assist with ad‑hoc financial analyses and accounting tasks as needed
Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or cash applications roles
* Proven ability to manage high volumes of transactions with accuracy and efficiency
* Hands‑on experience with ERP systems; familiarity with NetSuite or similar platforms is strongly preferred
* Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail
* Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
* Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
* Ability to work within US business hours and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment
* Experience in distributor or wholesale environments is a plus
* Background in industries such as CPG, retail, food & beverage, or e‑commerce is advantageous
* Familiarity with trade deductions and related processes is a plus
