Description:
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the restoration of visual function via optogenetic stimulation of the lateral geniculate nucleus. Techniques include neural pixel recordings, wide field calcium imaging, operant behavior, and the exploitation of viral constructs allowing for cell type specific expression of light sensitive opsins in thalamic cell bodies and axons. As a fellow in the lab, you will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the investigative process, including the formulation of questions, the development of hypotheses, the design and implementation of experiments, data analysis, and paper writing. Demonstrable fluency in either MATLAB or Python is required. If you are interested in this position, please send a CV and at least 2 letters of recommendation to.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to all aspects of the investigative process: formulate questions, develop hypotheses, design and implement experiments, analyze data, and assist with paper writing.
* Work with techniques including neural pixel recordings, wide field calcium imaging, operant behavior, and cell type specific viral constructs for opsin expression in thalamic neurons.
Qualifications
* Postdoctoral fellow position in a relevant field.
* Demonstrable fluency in MATLAB or Python.
* Experience with neural recording, wide field imaging, operant behavior, and viral vector strategies for cell-type specific expression is desirable.
