Job Opportunity
* We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Underground Space Engineer to lead our team in preparing geotechnical designs for underground works.
* This role will involve conducting numerical modeling of geotechnical problems, addressing challenges involving advanced constitutive modeling for soil and rock mechanics.
* You will be responsible for excavation and structural design activities related to underground projects.
* Your tasks will also include drafting instructions and supervising teams of technicians and modelers to create drawings for excavation, support, and final lining.
* You will prepare technical specifications for the execution of works, monitor quality assessment/quality control procedures, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
* Additionally, you will participate in the preparation of tender documents for tunnels, caverns, chambers, shafts, and related works.
* Short-term assignments abroad may be required to support site activities, attend site meetings, etc.
The ideal candidate has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a PhD in Geotechnics. At least 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering for underground works are required, preferably with experience in hydropower projects.
Key skills and qualifications include strong knowledge of rock and soil mechanics, extensive experience in numerical modeling of geotechnical issues related to soils and rocks, familiarity with international standards and guidelines for tunnel design, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.
