Patent Management Role
As a key member of our intellectual property team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering global patent and related intellectual property strategies and support.
Key responsibilities include managing prosecution and defense of CSL intellectual property, including building and safeguarding a patent portfolio tailored to CSL's R&D activities. This involves considering pending applications and granted patents in accordance with national and international laws and guidelines.
* Manage the identification and protection of inventions through filing and securing patent rights across selected countries.
* Provide counsel and advice to management and R&D organization to actively manage global patent-related risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in life sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology) or a related field is required. A Master's degree or PhD is highly regarded. You must be a qualified Patent Attorney or IP lawyer admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction (AU, EP, DE, UK, US preferred) or equivalent legal qualifications and experience in IP.
At least 4-8 years post-qualification experience in IP is essential. Experience with patent management in an R&D drug development environment is preferred, as well as expertise with patent-related agreements.

Other Responsibilities:
Assist in identifying and preserving Trade Secrets and work with the IP team to ensure they are well protected within the global IP strategy alongside other IP rights. Perform other complex tasks within the IP function as assigned, including contributing to budget management.
