In this role, you will support high‑impact fundraising and development activities for an international social enterprise working to improve livelihoods for smallholder farmers. You will contribute directly to securing and managing funding that enables large‑scale agricultural and income growth programs in West Africa. Working closely with the development team, you will help identify new funding opportunities, strengthen donor relationships, and craft compelling proposals and reports for institutional and corporate partners. This is a remote, mission‑driven consultancy where your work will directly support poverty reduction and sustainable development initiatives. You will collaborate across departments, including finance and program teams, to ensure strong alignment between funding strategies and field impact.
Accountabilities
Research and identify new funding opportunities across foundations, corporations, and individual donors
Develop outreach strategies and manage engagement with prospective funders
Write and submit letters of interest, concept notes, grant proposals, and donor reports
Support stewardship and relationship management of existing donor and institutional partners
Prepare donor communications materials in collaboration with internal teams
Coordinate meetings and presentations with funders, ensuring alignment across departments
Maintain accurate donor records and funding pipeline data in CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge)
Contribute to presentations and fundraising materials for internal and external stakeholders
Deliver an end‑of‑engagement handover report summarizing active opportunities and next steps
Requirements
5+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development
Proven ability to write high‑quality grant proposals, donor reports, and concept notes
Experience managing a portfolio of institutional and/or individual donors
Strong skills in donor database management, preferably using Raiser's Edge
Experience working with international donors, ideally in global development contexts
Familiarity with agriculture, rural development, or social impact programs is a strong advantage
Exposure to or understanding of West Africa is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote setting
