Join our dynamic Business R&D team in Turgi, where we develop cutting‑edge medium‑voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment with six power electronics engineers and three mechanical engineers, working on innovative solutions that have a global impact. This role offers flexibility in work arrangements and international exposure, with project teams collaboration spanning Poland, Sweden, and China.
How you’ll make an impact
* Drive the mechanical development of medium‑voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems in a R&D environment
* Collaborate on international R&D projects across multiple countries
* Work closely with project leaders, sponsors and suppliers to align on technical goals
* Conduct on‑site technical troubleshooting (approx. 10% travel)
* Apply mechanical engineering expertise to support product development and innovation
* Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration
* Test and validate new mechanical components and systems
* Contribute to the integration of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
Your background
* At least bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
* Proven experience in mechanical design and development, ideally in power electronics or related industries, with tools like SolidEdge, NX, SAP and Ansys
* Familiarity with medium‑ or high‑voltage systems and converter technologies is a plus
* Hands‑on experience in lab‑based product development and testing
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and thermal management
* Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept to production
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional, international environment
