What's the role?
The Data & AI Product Owner team is part of the Analytics Center of Excellence at Hilti and plays a key role in unlocking the value of our data for Hilti and our customers. Working closely together with business functions, we help shape the vision and roadmap for data and AI solutions across different business areas and actively develop the solution portfolio at Hilti. As a Data & AI Visiting Product Owner Intern you will get the opportunity to work on the most relevant data & AI driven use cases found in a large organization that is leading the digital transformation in the construction sector.
The start date for the internship is flexible based on your availability; however, a March start is preferred. The expected duration is six months
What You'll do
You will focus on one business domain (such as product, marketing & sales, logistics, or others) and, together with experienced business partners, help to develop the product vision for a data and AI solution, aligning on targets, requirements, and priorities.
As the Product Owner, your responsibility is to translate business needs into actionable requirements and ensure the solution delivers measurable value. You will own and manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and guide development in an agile environment.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role: you will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, front-end developers, as well as domain experts and other IT verticals to design and deliver tailored solutions. Beyond developing the right products, you will actively drive change management and ensure adoption, optimizing well-defined KPIs through continuous improvement and success measurement.
What You’ll Bring
· Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Data Science, Information Systems, or related fields for the internship period
· Strong ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions
· Comprehensive understanding of the full lifecycle of data and AI solutions—from ideation and ML modeling to operational deployment, change management, and success measurement (., A/B testing)
· Solid knowledge of cloud data platforms, data engineering, as well as Generative AI and Machine Learning
· Proven leadership without formal authority; demonstrates ownership, ambition, and influence
