As a successful applicant, you will join our multidisciplinary team in the Science & Research Process Safety Laboratory located in La Plaine, Geneva. Your responsibilities will include ensuring systematic assessment of industrial risks, focusing on data determination and its use for designing safe processes.
You will lead risk analysis or provide support for various chemical processes, including new innovative processes based on continuous, batch, and semi-batch operations, as well as existing processes to be optimized and processes utilizing powder technologies. Understanding the thermal aspects of processes and performing practical assessments of chemical process safety in coordination with pilot and production teams are key parts of the role.
Fluency in both English and French is required. You will provide technical expertise during risk analysis studies (HAZOP, What-if, LOPA, etc.), monitor procedures to identify hazards, and support the development and transfer of new processes to manufacturing.
You will also interpret laboratory results to meet internal client needs, prioritize requests, support HSE and expert teams, and act as a technical reference in chemical hazard and explosion risk assessments. Participation in project progress meetings and implementation of process safety strategies within global R&D activities are essential.
Interpreting thermal data from laboratory safety reports, including DSC, C80, ARC, AKTS, powder assessments, and other physicochemical data, to ensure proper risk analysis progression is part of your responsibilities.
