The company has worked with Intelsat, Inmarsat, and Astrum Mobile on several satellite builds and is also a leading provider of RF products and sub‑systems for satellite communication and remote sensing applications. /p pThis position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in the mechanical integration of flight hardware and subsystems on a next‑generation GEO telecommunications satellite. As an AIT Mechanical Engineer, you will prepare, execute, and continuously improve mechanical integration activities, collaborating closely with technicians, system engineers, design office teams, and AIT managers. Your responsibilities include ensuring payload mechanical assemblies meet precision, traceability, and cleanliness standards while supporting troubleshooting and contributing feedback for design and process optimization. /p h3Job Requirements /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience. /li li3+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanical assembly and integration of space systems or high‑reliability mechanical assemblies. /li liFamiliarity with cleanroom environments, MGSE, torque tools, bonding, and precision assembly techniques. /li liUnderstanding of space‑grade mechanical hardware, fasteners, and structural elements. /li liAbility to read and interpret CAD drawings, BoMs, and work instructions. /li liProven experience in anomaly resolution and test campaign execution. /li liExperience working with ERP and PLM systems. /li liStrong problem‑solving and teamwork skills. /li liFluent in English; French is a plus. /li /ul h3Job Responsibilities /h3 h3Integration Preparation /h3 ul liAnalyze CAD models, mechanical drawings, user manuals, and bill of materials to prepare integration documentation and hardware kits. /li liDefine mechanical integration steps and procedures in alignment with the overall AIT plan. /li liPrepare work instructions, torque tables, tool lists, and cleanliness requirements. /li liCoordinate with logistics and quality to ensure hardware availability and traceability. /li /ul h3Mechanical Assembly Execution Support /h3 ul liFocus on deployable systems (antennas, solar arrays, thruster pointing mechanisms, etc.). /li liSupport mechanical technicians during integration of mock‑up, flight hardware, and MGSE. /li liEnsure compliance with assembly procedures, torque specs, and cleanliness standards. /li liPerform visual inspections and coordinate measurements, alignments, or fit‑checks as needed. /li liDocument integration steps and deviations in appropriate tools (ERP, PLM, NCRs, etc.). /li /ul h3Troubleshooting Agile Response /h3 ul liActively support resolution of mechanical anomalies during integration, rework, or functional testing as per process. /li liPropose and implement fixes in coordination with the AIT manager and design office. /li liTrack recurring issues and participate in root cause analysis. /li /ul h3Documentation Configuration Control /h3 ul liMaintain integration documentation including work instructions, as‑built records, activity logs, and deviation logs. /li liProvide feedback to improve process, procedures, tooling, and spacecraft design for mechanical integration. /li liSupport preparation of review documentation for PDR, CDR, and manufacturing readiness at subsystem, spacecraft, and MGSE levels. /li liSupport preparation of AIT reviews such as IRR. /li /ul h3Interfaces /h3 ul liAIT Mechanical Technicians – for integration task execution and technical guidance. /li liAIT Managers – for schedule alignment, prioritization, and issue escalation. /li liAIV Manager – for validation and test specifications. /li liDesign Office (Mechanical Engineering) – for design clarification, technical documentation, feedback, and NCR resolution. /li liAIT System Engineer – for integration flow coordination, project milestones (PDR, CDR), and test specifications. /li liQuality Control and Product Assurance – for inspections and configuration compliance. /li liLogistics – for hardware availability and cleanroom inventory. /li /ul h3Job Benefits /h3 pFurther details to be shared by our recruitment team. /p h3Working Conditions and Contract /h3 pSWISSto12 offers a full‑time, onsite contract based in Lausanne (Renens), Switzerland, with frequent travel to external partners and stakeholders and across our office locations in Switzerland and Europe. /p h3More About SWISSto12 /h3 pSWISSto12 has established contracts with Intelsat, Inmarsat, Astrum Mobile, and ESA for HummingSat and also for its RF product line in Europe and the US with partners such as Thales, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and SES.
