What Your Day Would Be Like
* Lead the industry’s development of more data driven aviation meteorology tools in flight.
* Support the development of appropriate training programs focusing on meteorology.
* Identify programs and services that can provide more meteorological forecasts and predictions for the benefit to IATA members.
* Provide flight technical expertise to support IATA members’ requirements.
* Assist the Head of Flight Operations in ensuring the efficient running of the flight operations area.
* Provide appropriate flight operations expertise to ensure that our members’ needs are represented in terms of sustainability initiatives.
* Support all IATA advocacy requirements, including engagement with ICAO, WMO, OEMs and others in relation to the technical operations area.
* Identify and drive new initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability, and help recognize, define and execute commercial opportunities of value to our members and IATA.
What We Look For
* 5-7 years' experience as a manager within an airline meteorology forecasting team, with knowledge of flight dispatch.
* Experience implementing airline meteorological tools.
* Pilot license is a plus.
* An appropriate aviation degree or license.
* Ability to drive collaborations and knowledge exchange across IATA and with external partners.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
Travel Required: 10%
About the Role and Team
Led by the Head Flight Operations, the team is responsible for developing and rolling out global standards, policies and position papers related to the flight operations meteorology area. All team members interface with the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international bodies.
