Supervisor of High Voltage Laboratory
The HV Laboratory Jointing Supervisor coordinates the jointing team within the High Voltage Laboratory and supports external testing and field activities. The role ensures proper preparation, installation, and execution of high‑voltage cable systems and accessories for testing, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. It serves as the key interface between laboratory operations, field execution, and technical departments such as R&D and Project Management.
Responsibilities
* Coordination & Planning
o Coordinate daily activities of the jointing team within the HV laboratory.
o Organize preparation and installation of HV cables and accessories (up to 500 kV).
o Plan and support jointing activities at external laboratories and client sites.
* Execution & Supervision
o Supervise installation of HV cable systems and accessories for test loops.
o Oversee laboratory setup and provide support during HV testing activities.
o Manage preparatory work, including cable handling and logistics.
o Ensure timely and efficient execution of all jointing operations.
* Quality, Safety & Compliance
o Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures.
o Monitor and improve reliability and quality of test installations.
o Identify and mitigate operational risks.
* Team Leadership & Development
o Train, mentor, and develop jointing technicians.
o Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
o Support skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
* Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
o Coordinate closely with R&D, Project Management, and HV Test Engineers.
o Act as interface between laboratory and field activities.
o Contribute to the continuous improvement of jointing techniques and methodologies.
o Align practices with the Head of Installation to ensure consistency across regions.
Qualifications
* Education & Experience
o Technical background in electrical engineering, mechanics, or metalworking.
o Strong hands‑on experience in high‑voltage cable jointing and accessories.
o Proven experience supervising field activities or construction sites.
o Experience in HV testing environments is an advantage.
* Skills & Competencies
o Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
o Practical, solution‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
o High level of autonomy and accountability.
o Ability to work effectively in international and cross‑functional environments.
* Additional Requirements
o Willingness to travel internationally (~20–30%).
o Good command of English; German and Italian are a plus.
o Valid driving license.
