Job Overview
The Internal Audit and Risk Management intern will support both the Internal Audit function and the Internal Controller & Risk Manager with a 50/50-time allocation, providing a broad overview of the organization’s activities.
Internship Objectives
The general objective is to enable the intern to learn, understand, and develop skills related to internal audit and risk management within an international humanitarian organization. The intern will be exposed to and apply internal audit and risk management methodologies, analyze organizational processes, and contribute to assurance activities and decision support work.
Key Skills and Competencies
* Analysis and synthesis of financial, operational, and organizational information.
* Understanding of internal audit principles and tools (planning, testing, recommendations, and follow‑up).
* Knowledge of key risk management concepts (risk identification, assessment, documentation, and mitigation).
* Data management and structuring (tracking tools, information consolidation, preliminary analyses).
* Preparation of working and reporting materials (analytical notes, tracking tables, presentations, and contributions to reports).
* Coordination with multiple internal stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a context of multiple priorities.
Internship Project / Assignment
* Participation in an internal audit cycle (preparation, document review, basic testing, and follow‑up of recommendations).
* Contribution to the annual organizational risk review and updating of the risk register.
* Preparation of tracking tables, contributions to internal reports, and other support materials.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Organize meetings with stakeholders.
* Assist with document collection.
* Help define audit scope (pre‑readings, financial pre‑analysis).
* Assist with external provider selection and contract management when required.
* Provide logistical support for auditors’ travel arrangements.
* Complete basic audit tests.
* Assist in drafting and formatting internal audit reports.
* Conduct preliminary analysis to help elaborate the annual plan for field audits.
* Contribute to drafting the annual internal audit report.
* Request updates on the implementation of management action plans related to audit recommendations.
* Consolidate data and conduct preliminary analysis.
* Assist in developing and updating internal communication and training materials on risk management.
* Contribute to mapping and documentation of risks across key organizational processes.
* Help organize and update risk information for publication via SharePoint.
* Support monitoring of key mitigation measures for major organizational risks.
Your Profile
* Tripartite internship agreement.
* Excellent English written and communication skills.
* Good written and spoken French.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate).
* Knowledge of social media platform management and graphic software is an advantage.
* Creativity and positive innovative spirit, with aptitude for collaborative teamwork.
* Structured, with rigor and organizational skills.
* Ability to multitask, work independently, and take initiative.
* Demonstrable interest in medical technologies, digital health, and humanitarian innovation.
Terms of Employment
* Tripartite internship agreement is mandatory.
* Duration: 6 to 12 months, as defined by the agreement.
* Full time (40 hours per week).
* Location: Geneva, Switzerland.
* Start date: As soon as possible.
* Gross monthly remuneration: CHF 2,000.
