OverviewJoin the Audi F1 Project - Shape the Future of Motorsport!Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. We have recently opened Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the UK. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations with support from the UK. We are now opening applications for our inaugural Graduate Programme. In your graduate role, you will contribute directly to live projects, gaining hands-on experience from day one. And we place great emphasis on ownership: you will take responsibility for your work, make informed decisions and understand how your contributions shape the wider team's success.Your missionAs a graduate member of the Control Systems team, you\'ll play a key role in developing, testing, and supporting car control systems. Working closely with performance, electronics, software, and mechanical engineers, you’ll ensure seamless integration and reliable operation of critical systems. Your tasks will include monitoring and analysing telemetry data, supporting trackside operations, developing control algorithms, and contributing to fault diagnosis and system improvements. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, learn from experts across multiple disciplines, make a direct impact on race performance, and grow as an engineer in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCar Systems Monitoring and ControlSupport the design, calibration, and operation of control systems (gearbox, fuel system, brake-by-wire, etc.).Monitor actuators, sensors, and embedded systems in real time.Contribute to fault detection, diagnostics, and contingency strategies.Software and Embedded Control DevelopmentDevelop, test, and validate control algorithms for vehicle subsystems.Support model-based design activities.Contribute to embedded software development.Data Analysis and SimulationAnalyse data to refine and optimise control strategies.Support HiL and digital simulation work.Integration and ReliabilityCollaborate with electronics, performance, and mechanical engineers to ensure reliable system integration.Participate in root cause analysis of failures (electrical, hydraulic, software, etc.).Propose design improvements to enhance robustness and redundancy.QualificationsA university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.Strong mathematical and data analysis skills.Solid understanding of control theory and physics first principles.High proficiency in scientific computing, particularly with MATLAB and Simulink.Experience with sensors and electro-hydraulic systems is highly beneficial.Personal AttributesStrong written and verbal communication skills.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Creative and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with the ability to quickly develop solutions to complex challenges.
