Supply Chain Director Job
This leadership position oversees all supply chain activities within complex aviation projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
The successful candidate will lead a team of project managers and work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure procurement, logistics, inventory management, and tooling are effectively planned and executed.
About the Role
* Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-End SCM Execution: Oversee the entire supply chain lifecycle within each aviation project—from procurement, logistics, and inventory to tooling and delivery—ensuring timely availability and alignment with project goals.
* Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop a team of SCM Project Managers embedded in multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring accountability, coordination, and continuous improvement.
* Resource Planning & Allocation: Assess project requirements and allocate SCM resources accordingly.
* Governance & Best Practices: Develop and maintain robust governance frameworks, templates, and execution models to ensure consistency, visibility, and control in SCM project management.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the SCM point of contact within project teams—partnering with business and functional leaders to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
* Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor supply chain KPIs, milestones, risks, and budgets across all active projects; provide regular updates and dashboards to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
* Risk Management: Maintain strict adherence to corporate policies, external regulations, and HSE standards—embedding risk management practices across all project stages.
* Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of project management and supply chain tools to improve collaboration, traceability, and real-time tracking.
Your Skills and Qualifications
* Requirements:
* Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience in supply chain and program/project management.
* PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
* Strong expertise across procurement, logistics, inventory, and tooling.
* Experience in aviation or other highly regulated, project-based industries.
* Fluent in English, German and/or French are a plus.
* Proficient in ERP and project management systems (SAP, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.).
* Excellent leadership and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
