Position Overview
The Communications & Visual Arts Specialist will support the district's communication, public relations, and marketing efforts. This role will focus on graphic design, digital media, video production, and visual storytelling to enhance internal and external communications. The specialist will work in collaboration with the district's Communications Coordinator to create high-quality content that aligns with the district's branding, outreach, and engagement goals.
Qualifications
Experience in graphic design, video editing, and digital content creation.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Strong understanding of branding and marketing principles.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple projects.
Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Graphic & Digital Design
Create visually engaging materials, including flyers, brochures, newsletters, and social media graphics.
Maintain a cohesive district brand across all materials.
Video Production & Editing
Assist in the creation and editing of district promotional and informational videos.
Support event coverage, ensuring high‑quality video documentation.
Work alongside the Communications Coordinator to develop creative concepts for campaigns.
Provide artistic input on district-wide communication initiatives.
Photography & Visual Storytelling
Capture high-quality images for district publications, social media, and websites.
Organize and maintain a digital archive of visual assets.
Event & School Promotion
Design visuals and promotional materials for district events and student achievements.
Support school-based initiatives with customized visual content.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Assist in the development of engaging content to enhance community engagement.
Ensure that visual communication strategies are inclusive and culturally responsive.
Other Duties as Assigned
Support additional communication needs as directed by the Superintendent.
NOTES
This position governed by the terms outlined in the agreement.
Compensation and workload will be prorated if duties are not completed per the agreement.
Position subject to annual review and reappointment based on district needs.
Possess the physical and mental attributes required to perform all essential functions.
Term of Employment : Compensation : 2025-2026 School Year Pernegotiated agreement
