For our client, a global leader in power and automation technologies based in Untersiggenthal / Turgi, we are looking for a highly skilled R&D Senior Engineer specialized in Power Electronics and Product Compliance.
General Information:
* Start: 01.04.2026 (or by appointment)
* Duration: 7 months (Initial contract until 31.10.2026, with an option for extension)
* Workplace: Untersiggenthal / Turgi
* Workload: 80% - 100% (
* Remote/Home Office: Hybrid - Initial onboarding period onsite, followed by 1-2 days remote / 3-4 days onsite, after the probation period
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Technical Leadership: Act as the lead technical expert for product certification projects involving Medium Voltage (MV) Frequency Converters (power range 0.18 kW to 100 MW).
* Requirement Management: Clarify and manage complex product requirements, standards, and directives provided by Customers or Product Management.
* External Collaboration: Coordinate and lead activities with external Notified Bodies (e.g., TÜV SÜD, UL, CSA) to obtain and validate final product documentation.
* Testing & Validation: Write and approve test specifications according to international standards; witness tests, and review/approve final test reports.
* Compliance & Safety: Define system integration tests, collect critical components for electrical safety (UL, APQP), and ensure compliance with marine and industrial directives.
* Cross-functional Coordination: Manage product changes in collaboration with Release Management, R&D, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to ensure high degrees of product automation.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
* Experience: Minimum 5+ years in Power Electrical Engineering.
* Minimum 2+ years specifically in Compliance Engineering.
* Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of standards including IEC 61800-5-1, UL347A, CSA, APQP, and directives such as LVD, MD, EMC, and RoHS.
* Project Management: Proven ability to lead certification projects and manage documentation workflows using Office365.
* Soft Skills: High sense of responsibility, self-driven personality, and the ability to work effectively in a high-power industrial environment.
* Languages: Fluent English is mandatory; German is highly recommended, but not mandatory.
