Our mission is to guide students in the development of learning skills to help them reach their full potential. /p h3Job Title /h3 pStudent Services Coordinator /p h3Work Schedule and/or FTE /h3 p1.0 (215 duty days) /p h3Bargaining Unit /h3 pIndividual contract /p h3Salary Range /h3 pIndividual contract, $94,000–$120,000/year, depending on experience /p h3Desired Start Date /h3 pJuly 1, 2026 /p h3Job Summary /h3 pThe Student Services Coordinator serves as a strategic, site‑based leader responsible for ensuring high‑quality special education programming, compliance, and student support services at an assigned school site (Elementary, Middle, or High School). This role functions as a key operational partner to the Principal and Assistant Principal, supporting the daily systems, staffing, scheduling, and instructional structures necessary for students with disabilities to thrive. In addition to coordinating special education services and IEP implementation, the Coordinator plays a central role in the day‑to‑day functioning of the assigned site by supporting building operations, staff coaching, service delivery, and collaborative problem‑solving. This position is designed as a leadership pathway for individuals aspiring toward future roles such as Special Education Director, Assistant Principal, or other building‑level administrative positions. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 h3Special Education Program Leadership Compliance /h3 ul liDevelop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations (IDEA, Section 504, ESSA). /li liCoordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring student progress through the use of academic and behavioral data. /li liEnsure compliance in service delivery, documentation, timelines, and due process procedures. /li liProvide case management oversight and support to special education teachers and related service providers. /li liEngage in open communication with VISTA leadership and staff to maintain program supports with fidelity. /li liMaintain a culture of inclusivity for students, staff, and families. /li /ul h3Site‑Based Daily Operations Administrative Partnership /h3 ul liServe as a daily operational leader at the assigned site in partnership with the Principal and Assistant Principal. /li liSupport building‑level systems including service alignment, staffing coverage, and program logistics. /li liCollaborate with administrators to proactively problem‑solve student needs, staffing concerns, and site‑based programming challenges. /li liParticipate actively in site leadership meetings, student support meetings, and building events to maintain visibility and engagement within the school community. /li /ul h3Instructional Coaching Staff Development /h3 ul liProvide coaching, feedback, and support to special education teachers in instructional strategies, data collection, progress monitoring, and inclusive practices. /li liSupport paraeducator development through training, supervision, and ongoing coaching aligned with student needs, goals, and objectives. /li liFacilitate professional development opportunities for staff related to special education programming, accommodations, and behavior support. /li liLead monthly paraeducator meetings and provide ongoing communication, training, and support. /li liConduct paraeducator evaluations in collaboration with site administrators as appropriate. /li /ul h3Collaboration Family Partnership /h3 ul liFacilitate strong communication between families, staff, administrators, and outside agencies to ensure a collaborative environment for student success. /li liSupport inclusive practices and integration of students with disabilities within general education settings. /li liPartner with staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively across classrooms and assessments. /li /ul h3Data‑Based Systems Improvement /h3 ul liCollect, analyze, and interpret student and program‑level data to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. /li liMake recommendations for program enhancements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts at both the site and district levels. /li /ul h3Additional Leadership Responsibilities /h3 ul liAttend weekly child study and problem‑solving meetings. /li liPerform other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Special Services, site administrators, and district leadership. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster's degree in Special Education or related field (required). /li liDirector of Special Education or K‑12 Principal license (required upon hire). /li liMinimum of five years of experience in the field of special education. /li liKnowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to special education. /li liExcellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills. /li liExperience working with students with disabilities in various settings and grade levels. /li liAbility to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, staff, parents, and community members. /li liProficient in using technology for data collection, analysis, and communication purposes. /li liAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders. /li liKnowledge of current trends and research in special education. /li /ul h3Core Skills – Special Education Coordinator /h3 ul liIEP Management: Skilled in developing, implementing, and evaluating IEPs. /li liData‑Driven Practices: Uses academic and behavioral data to guide interventions and monitor progress. /li liInclusive Instructional Support: Coaches staff on inclusive strategies and differentiated instruction. /li liStakeholder Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships with families, staff, and administrators. /li liParaeducator Oversight: Trains, schedules, evaluates, and supports paraeducators. /li liResource Program Coordination: Manages caseloads, schedules, and special education services. /li liProfessional Development: Designs and delivers training for teachers and support staff. /li liTechnology Integration: Utilizes platforms like CLEVER to support special education systems. /li liStaff Support Evaluation: Assists with teacher and paraeducator evaluations. /li liStrategic Leadership: Advises administrators on best practices and program improvements. /li /ul
