Are you a seasoned professional with experience in managing country portfolios? We seek an exceptional individual to oversee our dynamic country program, working closely with our local team.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Develop a long-term strategy and thematic orientation for the country program, collaborating closely with the country team.
* Manage project and program cycles, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and log-frame development.
* Oversee and coordinate key projects, actively supervising and tracking yearly plan execution.
* In collaboration with the country team, develop proposals for new projects and identify funding opportunities.
* Manage relationships and communications with key donors and partners.
* Assume human resource management, financial management, and program administration tasks, working with our finance and services team.
* Contribute to international project developments, evaluation reviews, and knowledge management as part of our global programs team.
* Contribute to developing organizational capabilities.
* Participate in national and international networking events, representing our organization at conferences.
* Yearly international travel (up to 3 weeks) is required for program-related activities.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a results-driven, passionate team player with relevant experience and expertise. A development professional with a proven ability to deliver in fast-paced environments, eager to join a diverse, professional team.
Your Requirements
* A Master's degree or higher in a health-related or development field.
* Strong understanding of public health, development, and localization issues in low-resource settings.
* Experience in planetary health and climate change adaptation is an asset.
* At least four years of hands-on project management experience in South-eastern Africa, with experience in fragile or humanitarian contexts being an asset.
* Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a track record of supporting teams to efficiently deliver short- and long-term goals.
* Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills; ability to work in a dynamic environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple demands.
* Experience in reviewing and writing convincing technical proposals and project reports for institutional donors and knowledge management.
* Fluency in verbal and written English, with conversational German skills.
* Swiss or EU nationality or a valid work permit for Switzerland is essential.
