An innovative and fast‑growing medical device manufacturer is looking to strengthen its Engineering team with an experienced Development Engineer. The company develops high‑performance implants and surgical instruments used in complex spinal procedures, supporting patients worldwide.

As a Development Engineer, you will be involved across the full product development lifecycle, contributing to the design and development of spinal implants and surgical instruments in a regulated medical device environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Design and development of surgical instruments and implants from concept through to clinical use
* Creation of CAD models and prototypes, including tolerance and risk analyses
* Application of creative problem‑solving and rapid prototyping techniques
* Planning, execution, and documentation of design verification and validation activities
* Preparation and maintenance of development and regulatory documentation (e.g. risk analyses, test reports, specifications, DHF)
* Close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and clinical stakeholders
Your background
* Degree in Medical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BSc or MSc)
* 5+ years’ experience in development of orthopaedic and/or spinal instruments and implants
* Strong hands‑on experience with CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX)
* Solid understanding of medical device regulations (CE, FDA, MDR) and technical documentation
* Proactive, innovative, and hands‑on mindset with a strong focus on usability and clinical needs
* Very good English and/or German skills
* Comfortable working primarily on‑site as part of a close‑knit engineering team
