About the Project: EverestCard is a card issuing and core banking platform evolving into a vertical SaaS solution. Our current tech stack includes Scala 2.13, Play, Quill, and Monix. We seek a mid-level Scala developer to work with our existing stack, enhance and upgrade the system, and transition towards ZIO and Scala 3.
Responsibilities:
* Engage with the existing codebase, understand design patterns, and contribute to development.
* Enhance the platform with modern Scala tools, designing and implementing key components.
* Collaborate on maintaining and improving AWS infrastructure, including ECS, ALB, SQS/SNS, RDS, and DynamoDB. Basic AWS knowledge is required; certifications are a plus.
* Join a small, primarily remote team emphasizing clear communication and collaboration.
* Develop scalable, multi-tenant systems, especially in financial services environments.
Qualifications:
* Strong experience with Scala; familiarity with ZIO is a bonus. Passion for clean, maintainable code.
* Practical experience or willingness to learn the Play Framework.
* Solid SQL skills for data manipulation, debugging, and optimization.
* Experience with API design, RESTful practices, versioning, and scalability.
* Experience with AWS infrastructure services.
* Familiarity with distributed, highly available applications.
* Commitment to writing clean, industry-standard code.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for remote teamwork.
