High blood pressure is the world’s most common disease and causes 18M deaths/year. At Hilo by Aktiia, we believe the key to improving cardiovascular health is to provide patients and physicians with a deeper understanding of the blood pressure pattern. Before Hilo, it was not possible to monitor cardiovascular health at scale.

We are a venture-backed start-up that has raised over $96M from top-tier investors in Europe and the United States. We have developed and brought to market the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor. Our technology is based on 18 years of research by our founders at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM). Hilo by Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received a CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device under MDR, enabling commercial access to approximately 43 countries worldwide.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an HR Ops & People Partner.

As our HR Ops & People Partner, you will be the first dedicated HR person in the company. You will provide effective HR operations and people support to facilitate Hilo by Aktiia’s global growth. Your role will include streamlining HR processes, driving people-focused initiatives, and ensuring legal compliance across multiple countries. We seek someone excited about building new things, curious, solutions-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will be based in Switzerland (ideally Neuchâtel/Lausanne area) and report to our COO/VP Finance, engaging with all levels of the business to accomplish your objectives.


Responsibilities:

1. Provide operational support and act as the main contact for all HR-related inquiries, guidelines, and processes worldwide.
2. Manage offer letters, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing employee administration.
3. Own Hilo by Aktiia’s HR tools (primarily Deel) and monitor supplier performance to ensure effectiveness.
4. Ensure data accuracy and leverage HR data for informed decision-making.
5. Oversee benefits administration.
6. Run biannual review processes efficiently and on time.
7. Support line managers with their teams.
8. Ensure compliance across countries and support HR aspects of international expansion.
9. Proactively monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting employees and the company.
10. Stay informed about industry HR best practices, employment trends, and emerging technologies.
11. Create or update policies as needed.
12. Manage relationships with internal finance and external vendors, including HR consultants and service providers, to ensure effective payroll and HR service delivery.
13. Act as a trusted advisor for leaders and employees.
14. Drive people-focused initiatives alongside leadership.
15. Assist hiring teams with projects related to talent development and employer branding.
16. Bring start-up experience with a proactive, self-sufficient, builder mindset.
17. Possess a strong background in HR operations across the full employee lifecycle.
18. Experience managing cross-cultural teams and fostering global collaboration.
19. Understand employment law, ideally in Switzerland, the US, UK, and Germany.
20. Align HR operations with company growth and culture through strategic thinking.
21. Balance strategic and tactical execution with a practical approach.
22. Build strong relationships with founders and senior leaders.
23. Be a skilled problem-solver, adaptable, and quick to think on your feet.
24. Be sensitive to cultural differences and workforce diversity in global environments.
25. Be tech-savvy and eager to learn new HR tools.
