At ABB, you will utilize your extensive skills and technical expertise to select and qualify potential Energy Storage Systems and their manufacturers, ensure Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) compatibility, and support emerging applications around multifunction UPS for ancillary services such as frequency response and peak shaving.
This position reports to:
Chapter Lead
Responsibilities
* Lead technical qualification of Energy Storage Systems (e.g. battery cells, battery racks, Battery Management Systems, etc.)
* Support supplier qualification
* Stakeholders to identify potential new battery technologies
* Support certification of batteries and systems for the American and IEC standards
* Support on new emerging applications and technical know-how on batteries
* Identify and communicate energy storage requirements
Qualifications
* Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and more than 5 years of relevant Engineering experience
* Must have experience working with electrical systems or demonstrate the aptitude to learn complex power electronic systems
* Must have experience with energy storage systems and batteries
* Self-driven and responsible, well-structured work practices
* Can break down complex topics into simple explanations
* Collaborative team player
* Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
