Legal Counsel / Compliance Officer
As the responsible legal counsel for the Wascosa Group, you will play a key role in ensuring that we continue to act in a legally sound and forward-looking manner within a complex international environment. You will be the central point of contact for all legal issues within the group and will ensure that our international business activities are built on a solid foundation.
Your Role
Contract expert:
You draft and provide advice on purchase agreements for freight wagons and other assets, workshop agreements for maintenance, as well as leasing and rental agreements with customers, including general terms and conditions. You are also familiar with security instruments such as sureties and guarantees.
Insurance manager:
You provide advice and support on all insurance-related matters and are responsible for managing the company's insurance policies (in particular wagon liability insurance, wagon hull insurance, etc.).
Helping hand:
You support colleagues in the areas of Technology, Procurement, Operations, and Sales in the implementation, processing, and enforcement of contracts and outstanding claims against third parties (e.g., in dunning procedures) as well as in defending against unjustified claims.
HR partner:
You provide competent support to the Human Resources department in day-to-day employment law issues.
Training & awareness:
You raise awareness and train employees on legal topics while keeping track of current legal developments.
Networker:
You manage and coordinate external specialists and service providers as required to ensure the best possible solutions.
Your Profile
Excellent, completed studies in law (lic. iur. or Master of Law in Switzerland, or fully qualified lawyer in Germany).
Several years of professional experience in contract and commercial law, complemented by experience in compliance issues.
Good knowledge of commercial and labour law as well as regulatory issues.
Awareness of international and cross-border processes and related legal questions.
Strong sense of responsibility and high integrity.
Fluent German and English skills (French is an advantage).
Leadership skills, communication skills and enjoyment of developing structures.
