As Mechanical Engineer you will be developing and designing parts and mechanical assemblies for the drone and base station of Sunflower Labs Beehive 1 System (drone-in-a-box solution).This position is for an on-site employee for our Zurich office. You will be working closely with other mechanical engineers, robotics engineers, and electrical engineers to deliver models and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies, as well as test fixtures.ResponsibilitiesUse CAD (Solidworks) to design mechanical components, assemblies and test fixturesConduct DFM and DFA review of mechanical parts and assemblies Generate mechanical drawings with proper geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ISOFabricate and validate hardware prototypes and electromechanical systems by writing test plans, designing test fixtures and performing verification tests together with our production teamDesign thermal solutions, using a combination of CFD, FEA and thermal simulations and empirical testsWrite and maintain production documentation such as SOPsSkills and QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering5+ years of experience in mechanical design in robotics, drones or a related fieldSkill to reduce complex systems into a simple designShow creativity and out-of-the-box thinkingExperience with thermal systems analysis and designExperience with airflow simulationsExtensive CAD experience with SolidWorks and ePDMExperience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ISOand ISO 1101Experience with rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing, vacuum casting and CNC machiningExperience with DFM best practices for injection molding and sheet metalExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishOrganized, inquisitive, open-minded and willing to get your hands dirtyEnjoy working in a team at a small company with a collaborative and dynamic environmentA portfolio of past and current mechanical design projects is a major plus jide15b7eaa jit0105a jiy26a
