Role Overview
As a Category Manager, you will define procurement strategies for your responsible product groups across Switzerland, negotiate framework agreements with selected suppliers, ensure the availability of services and products for current and future needs, and optimize expenditures in collaboration with our on-site teams. Your expertise will establish you as a reliable and sustainable contact for our operations.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop and optimize material and supplier strategies for your product groups, implement these strategies regionally, and maintain data on suppliers, agreements, articles, and catalogs on the procurement platform.
2. Create and update framework contracts with existing and new suppliers.
3. Ensure compliance with global and local contracts and continuously optimize the supply chain.
4. Manage suppliers according to set guidelines to ensure compliance and smooth processes.
5. Support operational managers in projects, cost reduction, supplier management, and platform utilization.
6. Conduct expenditure analyses, propose improvements, and manage projects.
7. Create reports on cost savings, developments, budget planning, and monitoring.
8. Contribute as an expert in integrating new client mandates.
9. Participate in national and international projects.
Candidate Profile
1. Completed vocational training, KV or technical education.
2. Further training in procurement (e.g., Swiss Federal Diploma in Purchasing).
3. Several years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with experience in category management or specific product groups.
4. Extensive procurement experience with a focus on project management.
5. Analytical skills, affinity for numbers, independent working style.
6. Solution-oriented approach, social skills, and negotiation prowess.
7. Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office.
8. Fluent in German and good in French; English skills are a plus.
