For a large Swiss energy client of ours in Olten/Lausanne we are seeking a highly motivated professional to take up the following challenge:
Senior IT Project Manager – External 100%
Within the IT Portfolio & Project Management Team, we ensure the Portfolio Management planning, management and quality delivery of various projects ranging from strategic to transformational to operational change, serving internal and external customers across the organisation.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead our DevSecOps initiative, with a focus on securing GitLab pipelines and onboarding applications to Snyk. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with a working understanding of CI/CD concepts. You should be experienced in both classical and agile management & delivery methodologies, be pragmatic and keenly focused on delivery.
Project Information
DevSecOps
IDEA: Embed Snyk into GitLab, so that security can be proactively integrated into the development workflow, ensuring early detection of vulnerabilities in the CI/CD pipeline.
GOAL: Ensure compliance (e.g. NIS 2) by embedding security into every stage of the SDLC.
Implementation of Snyk for vulnerability scanning
Securing CI/CD infrastructure (migrating to K8s runners)
Enhancing artifact management through Nexus
NEED: Enhance security measures.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop roadmaps, project charters and detailed delivery plans
* Initiate project setup and manage them through phase gates
* Coordinate and deliver projects on time, within budget and in scope, owning the full project life cycle from initiation to delivery
* Motivates the team and create a positive project atmosphere to achieve the deliverables
* Act with intercultural skills to handle different cultures and communicate consciously considering different working styles
* Develop and manage the project communications plan
* Develop, manage and report on project success criteria
* Provide status reporting on all project dimensions to sponsors, steering committees & stakeholders
* Stakeholder engagement and management
* Manage project changes, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
* Develop a sufficiently deep technical and business understanding to be able to interact with business and IT subject matter experts
* Work closely with diverse teams and departments to deliver on IT solutions for business
* Be part of the PM Community and open to contribute to guidelines, standards, KPIs and processes
* Managing project compliance to our standards and processes
* Plan and execute meetings and workshops with various stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a cross-functional team across IT and Business units to deliver DevSecOps objectives.
* Plan, track, and drive project execution, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
* Coordinate resources and manage capacity with line managers.
* Facilitate communication and alignment between stakeholders, proactively managing expectations.
* Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps, and escalate them appropriately.
* Organize and lead project meetings, ensuring follow-up actions are tracked and closed.
Your Profile
* You have an engineering or information technology degree, or equivalent proven practical experience
* 8+ years of IT project management experience
* A proven track record leading IT project delivery teams
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in complex IT projects (preferably security or DevOps-related).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Confidence to challenge assumptions and negotiate timelines when needed
* Solid understanding of project management methods and tools
* Basic technical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab)
* Familiarity with DevSecOps and security tools (e.g., Snyk) is a strong advantage
* Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and strategic program
* Project management certification, classical and/or agile i.e. PMP, Scrum Master etc.
* Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and tools, and the software development lifecycle
* Experience in the energy and/or trading industry would be a plus
* You demonstrate high performance with the ability to navigate quickly between high and detailed levels, have a proactive mindset and are quickly able to get into hands-on work where needed
* You work in a collaborative way and have good stakeholder management skills
* Your working style is characterised by a strong customer focus, being results orientated, great collaboration, strong planning & organizational skills, and excellent communication skills
* Proficient in English, additionally German and/or French would be a plus.
Nice to have
* Previous experience in Secure Software Development or Cloud Security projects.
* Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
Location
* 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
* Start Date: 30.09.2025
* End: 31.03.2026 – could be renewed
