Position SummaryJohnson & Johnson is recruiting a Global Trade Controls (GTC) Senior Manager Risk & Issue Management to join our Global Trade Controls team located in New Brunswick, NJ. Reporting to the GTC Risk & Advisory Director, the Senior Manager will lead the design and execution of the global trade risk assessment program, maintain a forward‑looking view of the GTC risk profile, and drive consistent issue identification, escalation, and remediation in alignment with global standards and enterprise risk expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesRisk Assessment Program Leadership – Design, execute and continuously improve the global GTC risk assessment program, including scope definition, methodology and risk cycles; partner with Global Process Leaders and regional teams to identify and evaluate emerging risks, control gaps, and process weaknesses across the end‑to‑end trade compliance lifecycle; maintain risk inventories, risk‑and‑control matrices, and documentation aligned to global SOPs, standards, and enterprise control frameworks; develop and enhance risk indicators, dashboards and reporting to provide timely visibility to leadership on key risk themes, trends and remediation progress.Issue Management, Escalation & Remediation – Own the GTC issue management lifecycle, including intake, triage, root cause analysis, severity rating, documentation and escalation pathways; maintain the global issue log and ensure consistent tracking of corrective actions, milestones, owners and evidence of closure; drive remediation planning with cross‑functional stakeholders, monitor execution against action plans and ensure issues are resolved within agreed timelines and risk appetite; support drafting and coordination of responses to government inquiries, audits and disclosures by providing risk/issue context, evidence packages and remediation status in partnership with Legal and regional teams.Enterprise Risk Management & Governance – Lead preparation and quality review of GTC inputs to the Enterprise Risk Management process, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely submissions; prepare executive‑ready materials for compliance councils, risk committees and leadership presentations, including concise risk narratives and decision‑focused recommendations; facilitate governance routines (e.g., monthly risk/issue reviews) to align stakeholders, drive accountability and sustain a strong culture of controls and resiliency.QualificationsEducation – A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s or other advanced degree is preferred. Relevant customs or trade compliance certification (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker) is preferred but not required.Required Experience & Skills – 8–10 years of relevant business experience, preferably in Global Trade Compliance, Risk Management, Supply Chain Compliance, Internal Controls or related fields; demonstrated ability to leverage import and export regulatory knowledge to identify, assess and prioritize risk in complex business environments; strong issue management skills and evidence‑based closure of remediation actions; proven ability to communicate risk and issue narratives effectively across multiple regions and senior stakeholders; track record of delivering complex programs through influence rather than authority; strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills; experience developing risk reporting, metrics and dashboards; comfort with data analytics and visualization concepts.Preferred – Experience with global risk tracking/monitoring systems, issue management platforms, or analytics tools; prior experience implementing global trade compliance programs in Life Sciences/Health Care or other highly regulated industries.Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.
