Job Overview
The Project Manager, Engineering is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects that support manufacturing operations, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in driving operational efficiency, supporting business growth, and enabling the successful delivery of engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering projects from initiation through completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external partners to ensure project alignment and execution.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports for stakeholders and leadership.
Identify project risks and issues, implement mitigation plans, and elevate as appropriate.
Ensure projects comply with applicable quality systems, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
Manage change control processes and ensure alignment with approved project objectives.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and engineering practices.
Track project performance metrics and ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field
Master’s degree preferred
Experience and Skills
Required:
Typically requires 5–8 years of experience in engineering project management or a related engineering role
Proven experience managing cross‑functional projects in a manufacturing, medical device, or regulated environment
Strong project planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
Solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality systems
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred:
Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences industries
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Experience supporting capital projects, equipment implementation, or process improvements
Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO)
Experience using project management and collaboration tools
