Responsibilities
1. Technical and disciplinary management of currently 3 employees
2. Development, implementation and monitoring of global trade and customs compliance guidelines
3. Ensuring compliance with international trade laws and export control regulations (e.g. EAR, ITAR, EU dual-use)
4. Creating and maintaining internal guidelines for export control, sanctions list checks and goods classification
5. Conducting internal audits and risk analyses to identify and minimize compliance violations
6. Managing relationships with customs authorities and regulatory bodies
7. Developing processes for checking international suppliers and partners
8. Implementing IT-supported solutions to automate trade compliance processes
9. Advising internal departments (purchasing, sales, logistics) on the classification of goods
10. Strategies for utilizing trade preferences and reducing customs duties
11. Identification and implementation of free trade agreements
Hardskills
12. Completed studies in business law, supply chain management, international business or a comparable qualification
13. Several years of experience in a management role in the area of trade compliance
14. Sound knowledge of international trade and export control laws
15. Experience with compliance software and customs clearance systems as well as SAP; very proficient in MS Office
16. Business fluent in German and English
