At Isospec, we’re building a new standard for molecular identification to unlock patient-centric drug development and diagnostics. You will be the company’s first dedicated commercial hire and contribute to our go-to-market engine.


Your Impact

This is a full-cycle sales role: you will identify, prospect, engage, and close new business across multiple industry verticals.You will also play a strategic role in shaping our commercial positioning, pricing, and service packaging based on direct market feedback.This role is ideal for someone who is energized by building, and can hold credible scientific conversations with PhDs and R&D leaders while also executing disciplined outbound sales processes.


What You Will Do

* Build and execute outbound prospecting strategy to generate a qualified sales pipeline.
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and close, including complex multi-stakeholder deals.
* Develop deep understanding of our metabolomics and glycomics service offerings and translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for different buyer personas.
* Identify, attend, and represent the company at key industry conferences, scientific meetings, and trade shows.
* Establish and maintain a CRM system.
* Collaborate closely with the laboratory and data science teams to scope custom projects, develop proposals, and ensure smooth project handoffs.
* Provide structured market intelligence and customer feedback to the leadership team to inform product development, pricing strategy, and company positioning.
* Contribute to marketing efforts including content development, case studies, website copy, and thought leadership materials.
* Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with complementary service providers, technology platforms, and channel partners.


Skills and Qualifications

* 3–5 years of commercial experience (sales, business development, or account management) in life science services, analytical/bioanalytical CROs, or life science tools and instruments.
* Demonstrated track record of building pipeline and closing new business through outbound prospecting (not solely inbound or account management).
* Ability to engage credibly in technical discussions with scientists and R&D leaders is a must. Scientific literacy in at least one of: mass spectrometry, metabolomics, proteomics, glycomics, bioanalytical chemistry, or related fields is a strong plus.
* Experience selling consultative, custom-scoped scientific services (not solely off-the-shelf products or reagents).
* Comfort operating in an early-stage, resource-constrained environment where you will build processes and infrastructure from scratch.
* Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling proposals, outreach sequences, and presentations.
* Willingness to travel (estimated 20–30%) for conferences, client visits, and lab-based meetings.


Nice To Have

* Master’s degree (or higher) in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, or a related discipline.
* Prior experience at a CRO, or scientific services company, particularly one offering omics-based discovery services.
* Experience selling into multiple verticals (academia, pharma, consumer health, animal health).
* An existing network of contacts in relevant R&D and procurement functions is a strong plus
