The Position

We are seeking a Senior Event Controller to join FIFA and support our mission.
Key Tasks: The Event Controlling Department is part of the Finance Division, responsible for Financial Planning and Controlling of all FIFA tournaments and events, including but not limited to World Cups, Women’s World Cups, Club Competitions, Youth Tournaments, and Corporate Events.
Act as the Business Partner for FIFA Project Leaders of specific tournaments and events.
Support and control all functional areas involved in the effective delivery of each tournament or event.
Assist FIFA divisions, local FIFA subsidiaries, and Local Organising Committees in establishing budgets and forecasts.
Serve as the primary contact for budget matters for the Local Organising Committee or the local FIFA subsidiary.
Participate in reviewing budget assumptions periodically.
Ensure compliance with FIFA Finance requirements regarding processes, timelines, and budget structures.
Verify proper booking of invoices related to FIFA expenditures for tournaments and events.
Prepare and maintain financial reports for budget owners, project leaders, and management on a regular basis.
Analyze actual costs against budgets.
Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by senior management.

Strong identification with FIFA’s philosophy.
Experience in procurement and budgeting is advantageous.
Minimum five years in a financial role, preferably controlling.
Experience in organizing major sports events or similar projects in a financial capacity.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Proactivity and efficiency.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Strong communication skills, including developing Power Point presentations.
Reliable team player with patience and adaptability to last-minute changes.
University degree or equivalent business education.
Fluent in English; proficiency in other FIFA languages (French, Spanish, German) is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Power Point; knowledge of SAP is an asset.
