Bioprocess engineering is a dynamic and multidisciplinary field that involves the application of scientific principles to develop and optimize processes for producing bioproducts.
This role requires a strong understanding of mammalian cell culture, fermentation, downstream processing, and other relevant technologies.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as biotechnology, biochemistry, or chemical engineering, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream processing.
Key Accountabilities:
* Plan, execute, and document manufacturing campaigns in mammalian cell culture.
* Lead multi-disciplinary project teams as functional lead for all manufacturing aspects of assigned products.
* Prepare and complete SHE, EM, operation, and cleaning risk analysis for assigned products.
* Establish timely and qualitative production documentation specific to assigned production area.
* Implement regulatory requirements in corresponding assets and products.
* Perform manufacturing activities according to cGMP guidelines, ensuring batch execution, evaluating test results, fixing issues, and making recommendations for resolution.
* Work as production expert in capital investment projects for building and commissioning manufacturing units.
* Implement relevant GMP documents for respective area and train operators for manufacturing of assigned products.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
* Bachelor/Master Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related fields.
* (Highly) advanced work experience in this field with upstream experience required.
* Strong leadership skills, very good interpersonal skills, and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within the organization.
* Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering preferable in the area of Mammalian cell culture.
* Proficient in English, German preferred.
* GMP understanding.
