System Engineer (Digital Solution Development) (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:
1. Realise solution-architecture designs into deliverable system implementations across edge and cloud environments, with a strong focus on edge, including interfaces, data flows, cloud services, and operational tooling
2. Drive system integration across components (hardware and software), including configuration management, versioning, and backward compatibility
3. Identify and qualify third-party components from the market; run technical evaluations and PoCs; document trade-offs (security, cost, maintainability, vendor risk, etc.)
4. Support integration readiness with Test & Validation by contributing to integration test planning, acceptance criteria, and release/deployment readiness
5. Provide advanced technical support for system-level issues by investigating incidents, performing root-cause analysis, proposing corrective actions, and reducing the need for developer involvement
6. Create and maintain design documents and integration plans that specify integration requirements, interfaces, and operational assumptions
7. Ensure the overall system complies with marine industry standards and regulations, and apply best practices for data security, reliability, and scalability
8. Work effectively with engineering drawing/documentation sets used in industrial environments (, electrical, instrumentation, network, system diagrams
Requirements:
9. Industry experience in complex operational domains such as industrial IoT, remote monitoring, automation, energy, marine, or similar
10. Proven experience delivering end-to-end systems, including system integration across hardware and software
11. Strong troubleshooting mindset: Comfortable with root-cause analysis, working with logs/metrics/configuration, and collaborating across teams
12. Good command of Python (or similar scripting languages) for automation, diagnostics, and integration tooling
13. Working knowledge of AWS and common cloud services
14. Knowledge of system interfaces, protocols, and standards (, APIs, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT)
15. Experience with network troubleshooting and analysis tools
16. Familiarity with Linux
17. Familiarity with SQL and relational database querying
18. Know how to utilize AI tools for daily jobs
19. Team player and self-starter who works closely with development, test/validation, operations, and support teams
20. Strong ownership mindset with a commitment to delivery and high-quality outcomes
21. Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment
22. Clear English communication skills (written and spoken)
23. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
